How We Navigated Bear Hiring

The R Roundup Presents: What We Learned During šŸ» Hiring

Creating a story built from the ground comes from a commitment to withstanding the inevitable fluctuations that will come with different market conditions. Some projects are set up to only sustain through bull periods, and thatā€™s down to them; however, we have always maintained the consistency of providing our mission regardless of the market condition.

Suppose you havenā€™t seen our previous posts in the past few months. In that case, we have been going on a hiring journey to expand our pool of writers to increase the production of accurate crypto/blockchain news and educational insight.

During our hiring spree, we learned several lessons that we felt would be vital to share with any builder or anyone interested in extending the risks of hiring or even if you are just interested in the extra insight.

There Is Still Talent Aroundāœˆļø

The first and foremost point we want to emphasise is that there is still so much talent.

Whether you are looking for a writer, community manager or coder, it is out there for you. The talent pool that crypto and blockchain are exposed to exceeds that standard hiring talent pool as each candidate spends hours mastering their craft as crypto is so early itā€™s filled with enthusiasts!

Candidate flexibility and ability are critical to finding the potential team to take your product or service to the next level. If there ever was a time when your candidates will have the flexibility, it's during the bear when everyone is looking for means to expand their cash flow.

Importance Of Having A Social PresencešŸ“±

The one tip we can share that we have learnt that will assist anyone in search of a web 3 job is that having a social presence can be the difference between you securing the role and not.

The reality is everyone who is employing a candidate wants to ensure that their candidate can carry out the said role, and without your work being out there, there is no way in which you can conclude the candidate's abilities.

If it means posting your work on Twitter, sharing it to Instagram, and then linking it to your LinkedIn, DO IT. It doesnā€™t matter how you get your social presence made. As long as itā€™s evident, you will appeal more to web 3 companies who want to enrich company values through every operation angle.

Candidates Are Understanding, Even In The šŸ§ø

The uncomfortable $$$ conversation has to be had; however, in the bear market, itā€™s a lot more painful for applicants and employers. Letā€™s face it; everyone has lost money. That doesnā€™t take away from the work that can be done here. If a candidate fits your criteria, take a hit and try and get them to understand your payment/financial situation; more likely than not, they will understand the market we are in.

Everyone has a price for their services, and everyone has a budget for what they want to be accomplished; however, the difficulty is finding connections between the two. There is always a barrier of expectation from web 3 companies to pay employees 6-figure cheques with 50% equity (sarcasm), which is unrealistic. More often than not, your candidate will know that.

Final ThoughtsšŸ§

is quite a different article from the usual style you wouldā€™ve seen in our publication, but as we grow in our scale as a company, not just as a news provider, our approach to communication will always fluctuate but maintain the same message of making sure to what we speak about can be applied to any context and any market condition.

Most importantly, there is never the right ā€œtimeā€ to expand. Opportunities come left, right and centre in crypto land, and itā€™s your responsibility as a builder to approach that with the mindset of risk to reward when it comes to entrusting people to maintain your company's vision.

And to all the candidates grinding hard that applied to our job post, which was well over (150+) candidates, we want to thank you and tell you to keep working hard. Keep putting your work out there and allow yourself to excel in your field regardless of what it is.

There are job postings for crypto all over the place as everyone is trying to dominate this emerging sector, and itā€™s your responsibility not to get left behind by being passive.

As a reminder, this is not a trading signal or investment advice; it is an opinion, and each trader/investor should know and understand the risks of trading cryptocurrencies.
