The R Roundup : Binance U.S. Staff Cuts - Issue #106

There is no smoke, without a flame & in a sequence of mysterious moves by Binance, a staff cut storm has plagued their U.S. department with a number of reasons cited.

It all began when reports broke that the Binance U.S president, Brian Shroder, would be leaving the firm as they laid off one third of their staff. This year Binance has been in the headlines for several key executive exits whilst the regulatory pressure hit an ATH for them.

According to The Block, a spokesperson added:

The SEC’s aggressive attempts to cripple our industry and the resulting impacts on our businesses have real world consequences for American jobs and innovation, and this is an unfortunate example of that.

Telegrams 800m Users Get Crypto 💬

Token2049 wasn’t just relevant for it’s attendance, it was relevant for it’s announcements & Telegram made a major one.

Telegram Messenger announced that they would be integrating The Open-Network based crypto wallet for over 800 million monthly active users. The move sees the wallet called TON Spaced accessible to users via Telegram settings.

Telegram plan to begin roll out of the feature globally in November despite Telegram abandoning TON in 2020 following a lawsuit from the SEC.

Polygon 2.0 Token Migration Proposal 🗳️

Polygon 2.0 is underway and the Polygon Improvement Proposals have been released.

There were three major Polygon Improvement Proposals but the one that caught the attention of the Polygon natives was PIP-18 which detailed the implementation of the $POL token.

This would see the existing $MATIC token replaced by $POL as the native gas & staking asset of Polygon.

As these are just proposals which will need approval via a governance vote, Polygon is awaiting the community to provide feedback on the suggested PIPs.

LayerZero Welcomes Google Cloud☁️

Adoption is a funny word. Does it come with integration of the largest tech facilitators within blockchain? LayerZero would say so.

LayerZero announced last week Tuesday that Google Cloud will verify data sent between blockchain on their messaging protocol. Google Cloud has been surfing the waves of blockchain and this move will see LayerZero devs rely on Google Cloud as an oracle similar to how they use Chainlink or Polyhedra.
